Getting shorter, faster answers

How to ask for the length and depth you need, so you get six lines instead of a 40-page report.

Written by Oskar Malm Wiklund

Multiply matches the depth of its answer to how you ask. An open question can turn into a full research report. When you need something short, say so, and read the summary before the full output.

Ask for the format you want

  1. Say the length and format in your prompt, for example "Answer in 5 bullets", "One paragraph" or "Quick search only, no report".

  2. Ask a quick question first. Ask for deep research only when you need the detail.

  3. If a block is too long, ask Multiply to condense it, for example "Turn this into a one-pager" or "Give me one slide-ready insight from this".

Read the summary first

  1. Every block opens folded to its Key takeaways: two or three lines with the conclusions and figures that matter.

  2. Click Full report only when you need the detail.

  3. In the chat, each block card shows the same takeaways. Open jumps to the block.

  4. The download icon copies or exports the block when you want to share it.

Set a default for your organization

Admins can add a standing rule under Org settings, in Global instructions. For example: "Default to short answers and offer to go deeper." Multiply applies it to every task. See Organization Settings.

Tips

  • Split big work into several focused tasks rather than one long one.

  • Name the audience: "for a client email" or "for a CEO, in plain words" gets a tighter answer than no audience at all.

FAQ

Is there a setting for answer length or depth?

Not yet. Use your prompt or your organization's Global instructions for now.

Why did a simple question turn into a long report?

Open questions can read as a research request. Add "quick answer" or a length limit, and Multiply keeps it short.
