Personal context: import what ChatGPT or Claude knows about you

Tell Multiply who you are and how you like to work, or import it from ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini.

Written by Oskar Malm Wiklund

Personal context tells Multiply who you are and how you like to work. Write it yourself, or import what ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini already knows about you. Multiply then uses it in your own conversations and tasks, so you don't have to introduce yourself every time.

Getting there

Click your name at the bottom of the sidebar to open Account settings. Under Personal context, click Manage personal context. You'll find two fields:

  • Profile: who you are and what you work on, such as your role, company, skills and current projects.

  • Personal instructions: how you want Multiply to work with you, for example "Keep answers short and use bullet points."

Each entry is one line that starts with a date, like "[2026-10-01] - I'm a brand strategist at an agency in Stockholm." Click Save when you're done.

Importing from another AI provider

Click Import from ChatGPT or Claude, then choose one of two tabs.

Paste from chat works with ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and other providers:

  1. Click Copy prompt.

  2. Paste the prompt into a chat with your other AI provider and send it.

  3. Copy its answer. If it says more entries remain, reply "continue" and copy the rest too.

  4. Paste everything under Paste the result below and click Import.

Upload Claude export uses your Claude data export:

  1. In Claude, open Settings → Privacy → Export data. Claude emails you download links when the export is ready, which can take a while.

  2. Download the files from the email.

  3. Click Choose files, or drop the files on the dialog, and add all the ZIP files at once.

  4. Click Import.

Multiply uses your Claude memories. If the export has none, it learns from your own messages instead. The files are deleted once they've been read.

Reviewing the import

Reading an import can take a minute or two. You can close the dialog while you wait, and the draft fills the form when it's ready.

  • Your first import is saved straight away.

  • A later import is merged with what you already have, and nothing changes until you click Save.

Read through the entries and delete anything you don't want Multiply to use.

Updating it from a chat

You can also tell Multiply in any chat, for example "Remember that I'm leading the spring campaign." It adds the entry and shows Personal context updated. with a View personal context link. The change applies from your next task.

Good to know

  • Only you can see or change your personal context.

  • Each organization you work in has its own personal context. Nothing you add in one reaches another.

  • Organization instructions take precedence where the two conflict.

  • It's used in your own conversations and tasks. Scheduled workspace research, which your whole team reads, doesn't use it.

  • The import leaves out private details such as health, family, relationships, age and finances.

  • Each field holds up to 3,000 characters. A pasted answer can be up to 50,000 characters, and each export file up to 1 GB.

FAQ

Can my teammates see my personal context?

No. Only you can see it.

Does it import my Claude projects?

Not yet. If your export includes projects, Multiply tells you it found them but leaves them out.

Will a new import overwrite my edits?

It's merged with what you have, and where the two conflict the newer import wins. Nothing is saved until you click Save, so you can review the changes first.
