Agents: what they are and how to create one

What Multiply's agents do, how Multiply picks one, and how to create your own with your files.

Written by Oskar Malm Wiklund

Agents are specialists that Multiply hands work to, such as a researcher, a strategist or a copywriter. You can create your own, for example one that writes in a client's voice or follows your rate card.

How agents are used

You don't need to call an agent yourself. Describe the work in a task, and Multiply picks the right agent and delegates to it. To steer it, name the agent in your prompt, for example "Ask the Nordvik brand voice agent to rewrite this."

Click Agents in the sidebar to see your organization's agents. Every organization starts with a set of agents, such as Researcher, Strategist, Copywriter and Creative. Agents are shared with everyone in your organization.

Create an agent

Click Agents in the sidebar, then Create.

  1. Give the agent a Name.

  2. Write a Description of how it should work and think: what it does, its style, what it must never do.

  3. Click Create. Multiply writes the agent's prompt and tooltip from your description.

Add files to an agent

  1. Open the agent from the Agents page.

  2. On the Files card, click Edit and add your files, such as a template, brand book or rate card. Click Save.

Files added here are given to the agent every time it's used in a task. You can also edit the Prompt and Tooltip cards the same way.

Tips

  • Keep the tooltip clear. Multiply uses it to decide when to hand work to the agent.

  • Good agents to create: a brand voice agent for a client, a house style editor, a proposal or rate-card agent, a debrief analyzer.

  • To retire an agent, archive it from the row menu on the Agents page. Restore it from the Archived tab.
