Sources and citations

Preview where any piece of information came from by hovering its citation, and open the full source.

When an agent uses a web page, an uploaded file or another source, it cites it inline with a small purple number. You can check any claim without leaving the block.

Preview a source

  1. Hover over a citation number. A preview opens with the source's title and the section that was cited.

  2. The badge in the corner shows what kind of source it is (see below), next to the site or file name.

  3. Click Open to see the full source and the agent's analysis of it.

You can move your pointer onto the preview to scroll through longer sections. Clicking the citation number itself still opens the full source viewer.

What the badges mean

  • Original - primary material, such as a web page or a file you uploaded.

  • Synthesized - something built from other sources, such as an earlier research report. Open it to follow the sources it draws on.

  • Not read - the source was cited but not read, so there's nothing to preview. Open takes you to the original page instead.

See every source in a block

Research blocks show a sources count under their title, for example "14 sources". Click it to list every source the block used.
